Annual Best Research Award, Chiba University Global COE Program

The Annual Best Research Award, Chiba University Global COE program (Medical) for Fiscal 2011 was given to two Ph.D students in the G-COE relevant fields whose research was recognized to be most outstanding through evaluation in the committee of the G-COE Operation and Management Office. The winners gain research fund with  certificates and commemorative gifts.

Winners are follows;
Dr. Jin Yuan, a graduate student at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Graduate School of Medicine, Chiba University
The title of the prize-winning research : Lethal myelofibrosis induced by Bmi1-deficient hematopoietic cells unveils a tumor suppressor function of the polycomb group genes
 
 
Dr. Nijiro Nohata , a graduate student at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery, Graduate School of Medicine, Chiba University
The title of the prize-winning research :  Tumor suppresive microRNAs regulate novel cancer pathways in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma
